NordVPN – fast VPN for privacy

After changing the protocol from “Automatic" to "nordlynx," this seems to be keeping the connection better. I tentatively updated to 4 stars from 1 since the issue may be resolved. It would be five if there were more options for preferences, like preferred server locations and a list of wifi networks to use VPN for.

The app used to be great, however for some reason they now prompt you to "pause for 5 minutes", hiding the "Disconnect" option with in the main app in a hidden menu. You now have to open the app, click "pause" then click "disconnect". This is a paid service so why make disconnecting so convoluted? If anything people being disconnected means you make more profits as there is less server load? This behaviour also affects the widget which makes it unusable as well, as I do not want to "pause" it.

the app does the job, but is way more convoluted than needed. The last update broke he widgets, having to open the app to disconnect. Also adding unnecessary transparency making it way bigger than needed. Used to use it entirely with a command line in Linux, the Android version seems just an advertisement platform with some VPN functionalities.

(2024) When you want to disconnect you have to click the pause button first, super annoying. Just give us an instant disconnect button or at least a setting. (2026) Still no instant disconnect button, won't be renewing if it's not added this year, seems incredibly silly not to have this basic feature.

Normally a 4, just because they're pricey. Only changing to 3 because I don't like what they've done to their widget. 5 minute pause only, no on/off anymore, and they made it smaller. should add ways to change servers or make it transparent on the home screen.

The current widgets are not as good as the pre update. 3×1 widget use to let you disconnect and reconnect without having to open the app. 4×2 widget is really a 4×3 widget if you want it to show your recent connections other than that its just a bigger 3×1 for no reason. would be great if the widgets can be controlled from the widget itself like before. bring back the off button and let it reconnect to the previous server used rather than what's the best option.

endless connection issues. app consistently crashes about 20 times a day and cuts off your internet until you manually open the app and change servers. if you're not on your phone, you can stay disconnected from internet for hours until you finally troubleshoot the nord app. its constantly. whether I'm using the internet or not. getting used to how awful the service is so now I know to check nord as soon as I d/c. I wouldn't pay more than a dollar a month for the "service". Just awful

New widget is a straight downgrade. now I can only pause my VPN connection from the widget. used to be able to turn it off with one tap, loved it. now in order to disconnect it, you have to open the app, tap pause connection and then go down to disconnect. who's idea was this? who even wants to pause their connection for periods divisible by 5??
